Süddeutsche Zeitung after “Ana Karenina” premiere at Bayerische Staatsoper

“Robertas Servenikas shows a courageous approach conducting the Bavarian State Orchestra. He manages the floating transitions between the completely opposite compositions cleverly chosen by Christian Spuck which are only united by the main instrument – the piano. Sergey Rakhmaninov’s romantic turmoil illustrates the exuberance of feelings, and Witold Lutoslavski’s noisy rhythms stand for the real and imagined threats of a love to death. Bravo to conducting like that!”
